What is a good AP Macro score?

A 3 is a good AP Macro target because it is passing and may count for college credit at some schools. Some economics departments may require a 4 or 5.

A 4 is strong. A 5 is the top score and gives you the best chance at credit or placement. Credit rules can vary between macroeconomics, microeconomics, and general social science credit.

How to get a 5 on AP Macro

Practice graphs until labels and shifts are automatic. Aggregate demand, aggregate supply, money market, loanable funds, Phillips curve, and foreign exchange graphs are common places to earn or lose points.

Know the chain of cause and effect. A policy change can move interest rates, spending, output, unemployment, inflation, exchange rates, and net exports.

For free response, write the answer and the reason. If the prompt asks you to explain, a correct word alone is often not enough.
