What is a good APUSH score?
A 3 is a good APUSH score because it is passing and means qualified. Some colleges give U.S. history credit for a 3, while others require a 4 or 5.
A 4 is strong. A 5 is the top score and gives you the best chance at credit or placement. Check whether the college gives history credit, social science credit, or only placement.
How to get a 5 on APUSH
Build a clear timeline from 1491 to the present. The exam rewards cause and effect, comparison, continuity, change, and context.
For the DBQ, group documents by argument. Use outside evidence and explain sourcing when it helps your claim.
For short answer and long essay, answer the prompt directly. Use specific historical evidence and explain why it proves the point.
